I recommend you start with the AMAZING fic I received this year about one of my favorite HP canon characters.

The Two Names of Xiomara Rolanda Hooch
PG-13, ~2400 words

It's Hooch/Minerva and it spans decades of their lives beautifully. As a character study, it's clever, understated, moving, and more than believable. The author captures the process of Hooch becoming herself and her own struggle to name what she is. And I love younger and older Minerva as a romantic lead. It's also a clever take on the conflicting reports of Madame Hooch's first name.

I found this little card of St. Michael on Satan's back laying in the driving-path of the cemetery. I love windchimes in cemeteries. I recently bought an iron grillwork pole and a windchime for my mother's grave. Everytime I pass one I stop to listen to it's particular song.

I recently watched pans labyrinth so I expect that the next few photosets I do will be tree and wood orientated.







































How fantastic are these mary janes from Demonia? Ill put up a good outfit photo next week sometime but for now, webcam joy! I think there is a sweet 4' platform on these babies. All I want to do is wear slinky, thin-strap party dresses with these and daisies in messy updoes and bright red lipstick and 90s-this thing all the way through summer. (I want a clear backpack and a tamagachi and ring pops and a cassette player to listen to incesticide on).

Other than that! Things. I painted my poe with oil paints - it was my first oil experience and despite the droopy eye and general horribleness I feel okay with it. And a LokiDoki I was working on with watercolors, finished the night sky behind him first.










A friend asked me for a straight on, unphotoshopped photo where my skin isnt as white as the bride of dracula, and here it was. Which is all well and fine but I prefer my blown out webcam photos where the tim burton circles under my eyes are given due respect! I dont know, i feel like faces are so borring sometimes.

Some stupid shit:

Sephora is opening next Friday, I can't believe it's already June 1st next week. I've memorized 1:30 of the choreographed dance we have to perform since learning it yesterday.. It's not so bad. I just hope no one i know will be there when I do it. Which is a slim as fuck chance, because we have to perform it every 15 minutes or every hour on the hour or some shit. And no nice setup, it's like: you're in the middle of serving a client and then OP- EXCUSE ME MISS, LET ME JUST START DANCING BECAUSE IT'S THAT TIME. Just like that, mid-service. We're dancing to Girl Gone Wild by Madonna eughhh I can think of a hundred songs I'd rather dance to, especially in a frumpy tunic + headset + brush belt, but whatever.

I'm also working a lot less since my final exam is June 1st and I'm only part-time starting next week, so I have a lot more time to think. More than I need. I really like chilling with Em lately. We cook a lot of healthy veggies and explore NDG and game. I miss having someone consistent in my life, and she's been my closest friend since high school. I like that I don't feel that I have to "perform" myself in front of her. I feel like I have to do that with a lot of people: put up a front, or constantly be thinking, or joking, or walking on eggshells, which I really dislike.

I finished D3 earlier this week with some friends, and I'm really disappointed. I figured for a Blizzard game that took half a decade or more to create that there'd be more content, but it's pretty easy/redundant, even when playing with friends. I can only play about 15 minutes before I get bored. I like League though, which is kind of shit seeing as D and I aren't dating anymore, I get to talk to people like Mike, Em and Pickering about Leauge instead. I solidly miss one things about dating D now that some time has passed, and I think that's that he was into kinky weird sex. Hear me out, I am so tired of meeting guys that are into vanilla sex. I know a ton of girls who are into just that, but I'm not, I mean I totally want to wear sclera lenses and dress up as a snake woman before I bone your cock. Is that weird?

The best part? Well, there are several best parts. The first best part was getting to know the material from fanon and getting to experience the source material for the first time AFTER falling hard for the ships and the characters. The second best part is that there are amazing amounts of great fic. Seriously amazeballs. And the third best part, I think, is the dedication that people show to the fandom and its care and feeding.

So, yeah, late to the party but drinkin' hard to catch up. And it makes me want to WRITE complicated things. I have ANGSTY FEELS in my head. And, well, porn, of course. But the possibilities and complexities are exceptional. GK has spawned some incredible AU plotlines and I think I understand why now, after starting with a small bunny and having it chew up the mental page. Just amazing.
